Neil Young and the Bluenotes – Coupe De Ville

One of the more introspective songs on Young’s 17th album This Note’s for You album, Coupe de Ville is a gorgeous, stark bluesy jazz song. Couched in a melancholy minor-key mode (not unlike Stormy Weather), most listeners will peg this as a song about the desire to see a missing lover.  However, take a deeper listen.  Under the surface, this song just as easily could be about drug addiction.  It’s a smoky, beautiful tune that you could easily repeat all day.  Enjoy!
